Someone MUCH cooler than me said, "If art is how we decorate space, then music is how we decorate time." Perfect, poignant, and true. I wake up with songs in my head. Simple turns of phrase in mundane daily moments bring song lyrics and melodies to my frontal lobe; earworms not easily exorcised. Songs can be time-and-memory-machines, transporting back to specific moments and emotions. And some songs, are just dad-gum FUN. Let's decorate. Sing along. Or don't.
